Welcome Onboard

A passing pontoon walker once described our Island Packet as the "Bentley of the Oceans". (I'm sure that was from Titanic). Anyway, after a lifetime racing dinghies and latterly 40 foot AWB's (average white boats) with the whole boat and rig shuddering as their wide, flat hulls slammed into even small waves we decided that the boat for us should offer comfort and above all, security. The Island Packet 45 fits the bill perfectly.

Solidly built, Island Packets can show a turn of speed (we once hit 13 knots sliding down a big Atlantic roller) and most importantly, they have a sea kindly motion and stand up well to a breeze. Island Packets have circumnavigated the globe. Time Bandit is proven from inshore races, west coast Scotland and northern isles cruising and currently (April 2012) heading for our 3rd Atlantic crossing.

Well equipped, inside and out, Time Bandit will give you an ideal platform to enjoy warm weather cruising. Our 2012 itinerary out to July takes us from Florida, through the Bahamas to the BVI and from there, onwards with the ARC Europe fleet. We will stop in Bermudas and Azores before heading for the rias of northern Spain.

The aft cockpit is deep and well protected. With sea-keeping qualities better than most yachts Time Bandit can keep sailing when other boats might be too uncomfortable but is not too large for some of the smaller and more interesting anchorages.

Equipped with water and wind driven generators, electronic and Monitor self steering and tons of storage Time Bandit is built for self sufficiency. Berthing, anchoring and going ashore are made easier by a full size RIB, 6hp Yamaha, davits and electric anchor windlass.

Time Bandit is MCA coded and carries all the latest safety equipment on board. CE certified for 10 persons and with berths for 7, we carry a maximum of 6. No hot bunking on Time Bandit! You get space and comfort.

Each charter cruise is kicked off with a familiarisation and safety briefing. However, not all are finished with winning the "Spirit of the ARC" prize! http://www.worldcruising.com/arc/gallery.aspx
